Individual, Group and Family Therapy

We work with individuals to help them find more effective ways to face life challenges. Using a blend of therapeutic modalities: Adlerian Therapy, TEAM-CBT Therapy, Mindfulness Behavioural Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Gestalt Therapy, Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Sand Tray.

Our overall aim is to use research based treatments to help you be authentic and comfortable in your own skin…to be able to know what’s right for you and to make healthy decisions for yourself. We believe in tailoring treatment for each person. We enjoy working with ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds and will always make it a point to understand how you identity as a person (culturally, sexually, racially, physically, etc).

Domestic Violence & DV Prevention Program

The Domestic Violence Program at Next Chapter works closely with survivors and their families. We understand that many victims are in high-risk situations and, at times, managing life-threatening circumstances. Domestic Violence Counsellors and Advocates works rapidly and effectively to create and provide safety and a continuum of comprehensive services for survivors and their children including individual and family therapy, peer group counseling as well as bilingual and bicultural, step-by-step guidance to help navigate legal systems that ensure protection orders are in place and enforced by the law.


Clinical Supervision

Next Chapter counselling is open the opportunity for Master and College students to practice their skills and to receive Clinical Supervision.

Clinical supervision is an important part of the therapeutic process. It provides therapist with feedback, opportunities to learn new skills and it helps reduce the risk of ethical violations.

Welcome to Next Chapter Counselling & Psychological Services

Our goal is to stablish a warm, compassionate and therapeutic relationship with our clients, to support them find effective ways to navagate through life challenges, learn strategies to manage emotions and build connection with others.

Miriam Morgan, MA, RCC

Miriam has been a registered clinical counsellor (RCC-ACS) by the BCACC, a Certified Adlerian Counselling Therapist - CAC by the Adlerian Psychology Association of BC, legal educator, and social services professional for over sixteen years. Along with a Master of Counselling Psychology degree, Miriam is certified in crisis intervention (MANDT) and has ASSIST First Aid Suicide Intervention certification and CPI - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. She is also a member of the DOVE (Delta Opposes Violence Everywhere", the ‘We Can’ campaign to end all violence against women and the Developmental Disabilities Foundation. Miriam is an approved counsellor for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Miriam is a member of the Adlerian Psychological Association of BC (APABC), a member of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) and a Level One Certified TEAM - CBT Therapist. Miriam provides individual and family counselling to individuals of all ages. She also works with women who have experienced trauma due to sexual and domestic abuse.
